Gisèle became an orphan at a young age. Her aunt wanted to take care of her, but she didn’t have the money. That’s when Christ’s Hope asked her to join the program so she could receive meals, education, and medical care at the CarePoint.
The latter proved essential two years later, when Gisèle developed a serious infection in her leg. To prevent amputation, she needed immediate surgery. Thanks to Christ’s Hope, that operation was possible. Gisèle underwent surgery and had to recuperate for five months and learn how to walk again.
She is now 17 years old, strong, and healthy. She is about to complete Christ’s Hope’s program and is an active member of the local church. In addition, she is busy with her studies and sells meat to make some money. Ten years ago, she would not have dared hope that she would be able to stand on her own two feet.
