Meet Nikiwe!

Nikiwe is a vibrant and smiley 16-year-old girl from Eswatini with big dreams and even bigger potential—but she needs help to reach it.

She lives in a small home with her two sisters, brother, and mother. Nikiwe’s mother is the sole provider, making it difficult to meet the family’s daily basic needs.

Even in the face of these challenges, Nikiwe helps her family by washing dishes, cooking, and fetching water. She’s eager to learn, LOVES dancing, and shares about God’s love whenever she gets a chance with the people around her. Her favorite verse is Psalms 104:24 because it gives glory to God.

Nikiwe dreams of becoming a soldier one day to serve her country well. But without consistent support, access to education and the resources she needs to grow are out of reach.

By sponsoring Nikiwe, you can help provide the stability, encouragement, and opportunity she needs to pursue her dreams and thrive.

Let’s make sure this bright future isn’t out of reach.

How to Pray for Nikiwe!

  1. Please pray for the safety of Nikiwe and her family. Pray that they would all know and love God.
  2. Please pray that God will provide the basic needs that Nikiwe and her family need daily.
  3. Pray that Nikiwe will do well in school so she can have a bright future as a soldier and live out her dream.
  4. Lastly, please pray that Nikiwe will be sponsored and that she will be given hope through sponsorship. Pray that God would bring the right sponsor for her and that they would have a strong and lasting relationship.

A Bit About Eswatini!

Nikiwe lives in the heart of Eswatini, a small but vibrant country in Southern Africa known for its rolling hills, colorful traditions, and deeply rooted sense of community. Once called Swaziland, Eswatini is one of the last remaining absolute monarchies in the world. Though rich in culture, it faces immense challenges, especially for its children.

Eswatini has one of the highest HIV/AIDS prevalence rates globally, which has left thousands of children orphaned or living with sick parents/guardians. In rural areas where most people live, poverty is widespread. Families often rely on subsistence farming, but droughts and limited resources make food security a daily struggle. Schools are sometimes far away and poorly resourced, and most children walk long distances just for a chance to learn.

Despite the hardships, the people of Eswatini are known for their warmth and resilience. Sponsoring a child like Nikiwe offers more than just meals and education—it brings hope, consistency, and love into a life that’s too often marked by loss and uncertainty. Together, we can be part of changing the future for a child and their community.
